So many times in life we dont realize when we are entering a new season or we dont know when some of the biggest most important days are happening - when they are actually happening! It is usually only afterwards that we look back and say "Wow! That day changed my life! I entered a new season that day!"
I have been volunteering and been in charge of Hospitality for the College Ministry at Journey Church for the past year or so. Just recently I started working Reception because I wanted to be apart of Journey! I wanted to be apart of the Lord's house and serve Him more than I was able to with volunteering. It is also my dream, Lord willing, to work at Journey full time doing ministry there when I graduate. So working Reception seemed like a good way to get my foot in the door learn about ministry while I was still in school!
About 3 weeks ago I applied for a full time job at Journey to be the First Impressions Coordinator. Going into the application process I knew that it was a stretch considering I was still in school and 40+ hours a week was a lot! But after talking to the Pastor over that position who is also a dear friend of mine, we decided it would be beneficial for me to go through the application and interview process regardless of the time hurdle.
After going through the application process and 3 interviews with a panel of 3 people each, my friend and co-worker Ryan got the First Impressions job!
Of course, I was a little disappointed but never discouraged because I felt so much peace about going through the process, I knew it was what the Lord wanted me to do! Last Monday the Adult Pastor, Bryan, and Robin, who is in charge of the Women Ministry at Journey and whose husband is the Founding Senior Pastor, called me into a meeting when they offered my a part time position with Reflect, Journeys Women's Ministry!
I was floored! It was perfect! I have such a heart for women and women filling into their God given potential and into who the Lord wants them to be. It was such an honor to be offered this position. I was so humbled and beyond thankful. Robin and her husband Clark planted Journey and have had a vision and dream for Norman OK. I feel so blessed to be able to work along side Robin and learn about ministry from her. It is such an honor to work with her and her ministry! I'm so excited.
Monday, February 6th was my first day and though I broke the computer the first hour on the job everything has been great so far! I am loving settling into my new position, new desk, and new season of learning and growing! I have already started dreaming for Reflect and the women that are apart of the Reflect Bible Study! It is a young ministry and there is so much room for the Lord to move and grow! I cant wait to see what He does and I cant believe he has blessed me with the opportunity to be apart of all of it!
The Lord is faithful and so good to us!
He blows my mind daily!!!! :)
I'm off to work and school! Oh .. and DISNEY WORLD with my family!
Enjoy the weekend..
